We go to work every day to do something meaningful - which is to include people in the formal economy in Africa. Today about 80% of the African people are excluded from basic financial services. Let’s join forces and build services that are safer, better, more transparent and inclusive for the African people. 

You will be in charge of the most important component in Wakandi, keeping the system running smoothly. Did we mention that the servers are in Africa and in AWS? That makes it just more challenging and interesting.

If you have heard of Kubernetes, CI/CD, Ansible, Terraform, that is not good enough! We need someone who dreams about Kubernetes and automates his or her shopping list with Ansible. And Linux is the only operating system for servers!

Join us now, and you will be the first operation engineer. You get to influence how our stack will be and choose your own team. Operations are of course your responsibility, but if you feel comfortable you can also manage the team. 

And we all know that management is the least competent to take technical decisions. They need input on strategic planning and investments needed to succeed.

Your tasks during an ordinary workday will include:

• working closely with the development team to help build and improve build pipelines
• operate and maintain our systems, both running in AWS and in local data centres in Tanzania, Kenya and more to come
• help with automation of areas that needs improvement
• help the support team when needed with more technical tickets

Wakandi is a digital-first company and wants you to have a flexible and simple workday. You will be able to work from both our Skien office and Tønsberg office, in addition to home office. More details to be agreed upon.

There will also be an opportunity to travel to various locations in Africa where we are in operations.
