Applications Engineers in TI’s Low Power Connectivity Solutions product line are technical experts on Low Power Radio Frequency (RF) products. Our business has very high growth in TI and is in a segment where the market is accelerating. We’re searching for an experienced hardware applications engineer who has the passion and excitement to grow in this position, innovate, and take an active role in supporting customers as they design, ramp and manufacture their products with TI technology inside.

In this position you’ll work with closely with TI customers to determine their design challenges and partner with them on creating solutions, design optimization and improving their products. This can involve travelling to the customer and working together on-site to solve any issues. It is important to create a good working relationship with our customers and deliver presentations both in-house and onsite. You will spend hands-on time in a world-class RF lab tackling technical challenges and delivering innovative development solutions that support our products and drive revenue.

This role is as an experienced RF&HW Applications Engineer for low power connectivity solutions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Plan, design, develop and characterize RF development kits (LaunchPads) and RF reference designs
  • Test and optimize RF performance on customer HW and reference designs in our high-end RF lab, including schematic and layout reviews of customer application
  • Electromagnetic (EM) simulations and analyses of designs (balun, filtering, transmission lines, impedance matching)
  • Develop and optimize RF PHYs
  • Be a technical expert on RF/HW and provide technical support to the company's sales staff and customers
  • Develop technical documentation including application notes, user guides, design notes and white papers.
  • Internal- and customer training, through training events like FAE summits and TI Tech Days or written materials, like application notes, journal papers, or IEEE papers.
  • Interface with various cross-functional teams (e.g. Designers, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Business)
  • Establish key relationships with our customers and field team


Minimum qualifications:

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant experience

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in applications support of embedded & RF products
  • RF PCB design (Cadence, Altium)
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum and network analyzer, load pull system, etc.) and simulation tools (e.g. ADS, Ansys, etc.),
  • Regulatory & Compliance testing, experience with antenna design & EMC chamber
  • Solid hardware and software debugging skills
  • Embedded C programming and Labview skills is an advantage
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Additional language is an advantage
  • Time management skills and the ability to work towards a deadline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
