System Engineer IT Operations to ABAX

Job Description

ABAX has soon finalized its journey of modernizing traditional windows services into containerized deployments running .Net Core on Linux. Related to this shift in technology we are aiming to strengthen our DevOps team with even more Linux competent system engineers, as well as operational power to server the Technology section of ABAX with all areas within DevOps. During 2021 we completed our migration of our on-prem data center environment to Google Cloud.

In this role you will be part of a team with three other System Engineers operating in the same field as you. You will have responsibility within areas such as virtualized environments, infrastructure, networking, backup and other areas to keep our production environment secure and reliable.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in operational activities such as system monitoring, provisioning, configuration and upgrade/maintenance
• Operating kubernetes clusters with Rancher
• Troubleshoot incidents related to infrastructure
• Troubleshoot build pipeline issues in collaboration with software engineers
• Work independently and in teams according to needs
• Create and maintain appropriate documentation

Required skills and qualifications

• Linux sysadmin and shell scripting skills
• (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go)
• Basic knowledge of general networking
• Problem-solving skills – Troubleshooting is an important aspect of this role
• Communication skills – Good written and oral English

Nice-to-have

• Good knowledge of DevOps fundamentals and solutions
• Experience using Git solutions and creation of build pipelines
• Experience with kubernetes and containerized environments
