We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team!

Together with our partners Blue Logic AS and Subsea USB AS located in Stavanger, we deliver wireless power and communication to large and complex systems for energy production. WPC is currently providing the technology for charging and communicating with autonomous subsea drones located at the bottom of the Norwegian shelf. 

In connection with the ongoing electrification of subsea energy production, increased demand for our products is expected.

We have an increasing number of assignments and need more skilled employees in several areas within system design and software (SW) development. We develop our SW ecosystem to fit the market requirements. Hardware (HW) is in-house developed while SW is developed throughout the value chain, both in-house and in collaboration with partners.

SW includes low-level drivers and inductive regulation, OPCUA, IoT (MQTT) protocols over 4G / 5G and cloud solutions where data is shared with adjacent systems and / or presented through web MMI. It is part of our strategy to publish several of our SW components as open source.

Tasks for Embedded Software Developer:

• Software development for high performance products under extreme environmental conditions
• Development of software in interdisciplinary projects that include electronics, mechanics, radio communication (4G / 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
• Hardware-near / low-level programming of bus protocols, drivers, and microcontrollers
• Integration with various "host systems" where Linux is most common.
• Prototype development

Senior developers are expected to be able to work on translating customer requirements into system design, and to share their knowledge and guide others, take responsibility, be proactive and solution-oriented, be able to represent the company towards the customer and contribute to the strategy work as well as in-sales processes.

Proficiency in C / C ++, as well as high-level languages such as Python Linux, FreeRTOS Git and other tools that are part of a SW toolchain is desired.

Travel activities in connection with installation, testing, verification, as well as demonstrations are an integral part of the job.

Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or similar
• Relevant experience in embedded software development
• Good knowledge and experience of protocol, design and delivery of software.
• Good skills in oral and written in English and/or Norwegian
