The position

SMERUD is looking for a highly motivated and self-going statistician with experience from medical statistics, ideally from planning and analysing clinical trials in the biotech/pharma sector, to join our biometrics division with other statisticians and clinical data managers. Our portfolio of cross-functional projects (randomised clinical trials and entire clinical drug development programs) is growing, and you will work as a senior professional in one or more such teams.

Responsibilities

Planning of clinical trials
Experimental design
Sample size estimations
Input to Case Report Form design
Analyses of clinical trials
Statistical modelling
Development of clinical trial analysis plans
Interpretation of data
Compiling statistical reports of clinical trials
Consulting/expert advice to clinical research scientists (project managers) within SMERUD, and high-level project/programme directors and managers within client organisations.
Consulting/training in medical statistics for academic/investigator groups

Qualification

Academic degree (at least MSc, ideally PhD) and/or practical experience in statistics, preferably with specialisation in medical statistics
Familiarity with statistical software like SAS and/or R, SPSS, Stata, Minitab
Programming experience
Strong fluency in English, oral and written.

The Smerud Medical Research Group (SMERUD) is a full-service clinical Contract Research Organisation (CRO) operating in the Northern European area with head office in Norway and subsidiary offices in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria and Poland. Our functional clinical trials services are primarily clinical project management, monitoring, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, data management, biostatistics, medical writing in addition to our general drug and device development consulting. Our core competency is expert consulting related to the clinical development plan and specifically to proof-of-concept clinical trials. SMERUD has been operating for 28+ years, and been involved in more than 1500 clinical trials in a wide variety of indications, countries and study phases. We have about 30 clinical development professionals employed, with an additional 20 freelancers and consultants associated.
