Are you our new Business Development and Engineering Director

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Business Development and Engineering (BD&E) Director to our main production plant at Ringnes Gjelleråsen, just outside Oslo. In the role you’ll have the responsibility for driving the BD&E agenda influencing techno-commercial aspects of the business directly. Together with the team you will dive into critical part of the business and drive optimization in a long-term perspective to ensure future growth.

The BD&E Director is the head of maintenance, preventive maintenance pillar, large- and small-scale projects and advisory for innovations/portfolio development and product changes. The position reports to VP ISC Norway.

As our BD&E Director your key responsibilities will be:

• Accountable for End-to-End business development processes at the scope of technical product and packaging change in the local organisation
• Accountable for End-to-End engineering processes in the local organisation: Upkeep, maintenance and reliability of the site production and warehousing assets, MHE (Material handling equipment), automation & OT (operational technology), utilities, facilities, facility management and infrastructure
• Develop and implement the Long-Term Capital outlay for the site together with the senior management team and regional support functions, and drive Capex optimization.
• Drives performance gaps closure and continuous improvement of BD&E KPIs such as maintenance budget, equipment efficiencies, preventive maintenance, breakdown and defect downtimes, power and utility consumption and many others through effective use of Carlsberg Excellence Methodologies
• Ownership of technical product/packaging change process directly or through the PCC (Product Change Coordinator) in the local organization: ensures business driven needs for new materials, technologies and equipment leading to the new products are effectively and efficiently introduced into operations, link role between manufacturing (B&P, Packaging, Maintenance, Utilities, QSHE)and warehousing processes towards planning – PCM (product change manager)
• Responsible for driving and development of “Preventive Maintenance” pillar and strategic initiatives to ensure continuous focused improvement using the philosophy of Excellence (Lean 6 Sigma TPM) to reduce count, cost, frequency and impact of Breakdowns.
• Work to develop and execute a proper sustainability to reduce overall carbon footprint, energy, water consumption, plastic usage to adopt best in class environmental/sustainability practices.
• Report and liaise with authorities with regards to environment aspects from our main sites

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

• University degree in Engineering - Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical or Automation or Supply Chain Sciences.
• 10 years’ plus experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English
