As our lab manger and product tester, you will help drive new technology development in collaboration with the local and global technology team.  

Halliburton is the world’s largest provider of Completion equipment to oil and gas operators across the world, and the Sandefjord team is founded on the development of a product for measuring pressure and temperature behind casing in oil and gas wells. The Sandefjord location is a global excellency center for inductive coupler and digital infrastructure technology. We have a strong multidisciplinary team welcoming a brilliant mind to deliver on new technology as well as improve the current product portfolio.

Our expectations:

We are searching for someone who loves to work in a lab environment.
We have 5 lab areas: Electrical-, mechanical-, electromagnetic-, environmental- and inspection-lab. We need a practical person with good computer skills, experience from similar work is valued. Like the rest of us you are creative and self-driven, as well as motivated by working with others to find simple solutions to complex challenges. We are a multilingual company with English as our primary written language. Norwegian is not required but a big advantage for verbal communication. Some travel may be required.

Your responsibilities:

-          Day to day management of all lab facilities and activities

-          Continuous improvement of labs to stay as a state-of-the-art facility

-          Purchase and install new lab equipment

-          Supervise testing activities and ensure safe behavior

-          Conduct product testing as required

-          Perform other lab-related work tasks

Required qualifications and competencies:

-          Relevant bachelor or other technical education

-          Experience with lab work

-          Electrical and computer skills

Desired competencies and experiences:

-          Soldering experience and certificate

-          Experience with digital microscope

-          Basic programming skills, VB / C++ / C# .NET

-          Experience with Labview and NI equipment

-          EMC compliance testing

-          linux

-          Simple analog and digital circuit board design, schematics and PCB layout

-          Trade certificate
