Marine Superintendent

Our Ship Management team manages and supervises about 50 ships and is fully integrated with fleet management, risk management, crewing and technology support.

We are strengthening the Ship Management department and are looking for a skilled and dedicated Marine Superintendent. You will also have a central role in taking part in ongoing projects to simplify and digitize systems and tools. You will play a key part in Odfjells Technical and Marine Superintendent team in Bergen, known for its competence, positive spirit and drive.

TASKS:

• Actively promote the company's HSE program and safety culture
• Ensure regulatory and internal health, safety, environmental and quality standards are met
• Visit/inspect ships at regular intervals
• Ensure implementation of procedures and handling of events of assigned ships
• Prepare for, plan, monitor and follow up customer (vetting) inspections as well as Port and Flag state controls in co-operation with the Technical Superintendent and Shipboard Management Teams
• Assist and support the ships in nautical and operational issues
• Carry out Incident Investigation
• Provide onboard training in navigational, operational and safety matters
  
  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Captain, Chief- or Second Officer or other Marine/maritime education/experience
• Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and industry standards
• Strong communication skills
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
  
  

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience within ship management
• Onboard experience from Chemical tankers
