Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented professional for the position of Analyst in the Environmental Initiatives team, which is part of the Corporate Governance group. Corporate Governance conducts the fund's ownership and responsible investment activities. The Environmental Initiatives team contributes to the fund's value creation objective through policy development, sustainability analysis and engagement with portfolio companies on environmental topics.
The Role
As an Analyst in the Environmental Initiatives team you will support the fund's engagements with companies on climate change and other environmental topics. The role offers the right person an opportunity to deep dive on companies' approach to environmental topics and inform engagement with company boards and senior management on behalf of a fund that owns on average 1.4% of all listed companies globally. Alongside colleagues within the Environmental Initiatives team and across the Corporate Governance department, you will help develop the fund's views and practices as an owner. You will provide expertise on environmental issues to internal portfolio managers and other stakeholders in Norges Bank Investment Management. Quantitatively inclined individuals with a topical interest in climate change issues are encouraged to apply.
The position is based in Oslo and will report to the Head of Environmental Initiatives.
What you will do
* Performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of companies' exposure, management and performance on environmental topics, including climate transition plans
* Supporting engagement with companies on environmental topics, including by setting and tracking engagement objectives
* Contributing to models and tools to enhance availability, quantitative analysis, and use of data on environmental topics across NBIM areas
* Providing support to ongoing projects on environmental topics
* Contributing to a collaborative, dedicated and high-performing team
What you need
* Experience with corporate sustainability analysis or management from a company, investment manager, consultancy, research provider or similar (2+ years preferred)
* Master's degree in economics, finance, environmental sciences or other relevant field with strong academic records
* Good understanding of climate change risks and opportunities in the corporate context
