We are looking for an experienced research scientist within polymer technology/chemistry.

The successful candidate will serve as Research Scientist/Project Manager in RESMAN's R&D Department. The team is responsible for developing tracer systems based on chemical tracers embedded in polymers which are released into target well fluids, produced oil and water. The place of work will be RESMAN’s headquarter in Trondheim, Norway.

A research scientist within polymer chemistry and materials in RESMAN will work with research and development of release systems for chemical tracers. Research and development are performed in-house and with key R&D partners. The work is organized in project teams and has long term plans. RESMAN has laboratory facilities to support in-house work and production facilities available for pilot production. The position will involve research, technology implementation as well as project management which is a key part of the job. Engagement and involvement primarily within the R&D department but also other departments, employees in HQ and international divisions and external contractors are essential to the effectiveness of the function.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key technical person in the Research & Development department, the Research Scientist will directly report to the CTO. The successful candidate will be involved in key project(s) in the R&D portfolio and shall have responsibility to:

• Be Project Manager for selected R&D projects
• Perform research and development, including theoretical and practical studies
• Drive New Product Development by conducting feasibility studies, set up project plans, drive milestone delivery and identify relevant collaborators
• Be involved in piloting of new technology
• QHS & E performance as directed by management

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Minimum MSc in chemical engineering or organic chemistry , preferably with a major in polymer technology/chemistry.
• Minimum 2 years work experience (or PhD) within development or production of polymer materials.
• Language: Fluent oral and written English. Proficiency in one of the three Scandinavian languages is considered as an advantage.
