Two 24-month senior technician positions (bioengineer, MSc or MSc., PhD) are available in a multidisciplinary at the KG Jebsen Centre for B-cell malignancies, Department of Immunology at Oslo University Hospital (OUH)-Rikshospitalet. The positions are funded by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), a global partnership to accelerate the development of vaccines and is a regional partnership between the OUH, Norwegian National Institute of Health (FHI), Diakonhjemmet hospital, Akershus University Hospital. The positions will be in the research group of Prof Ludvig A Munthe.
 
The application must include:

  • Application letter, including a ½ page motivation statement and research interests
  • CV (summarizing education, positions, technical experience, routine/academic work, scientific publications and other relevant activity)
  • Copies of educational certificates and letters of recommendation
  • Names and contact details of 2-3 referees (name, relation to candidate, e-mail and telephone number).

The successful applicant will work in the laboratory of the KG Jebsen Centre at the Department of Immunology, a 350 person department that includes the Blood Bank, several diagnostics sections, 3 Research Centres and about 120 researchers.

Job description

The positions will be a part of a team involved in monitoring vaccine responses of high-risk patients that are immunosuppressed due to necessary therapy or due to genetic defects. We will revaccinate 1000 patients and will monitor serological and cellular responses. The current positions will be a part of the cellular immunology team. We need to help generate new guidelines for vaccinations for this high-risk group of patients.

  • Position 1
    will be more routine involving biobanking, sample preparation and processing.
  • Position 2
    will involve routine activities, but also experiments, data processing and analysis and open for scientific co-authorship.

Qualifications

  • The candidates must have a Bioengineer, MSc or PhD degree (or other equivalent education) related to molecular biology, cell biology or immunology. 
  • It will be an advantage if the applicant can start as soon as possible.
