We are looking for a senior level Product Manager to join our Teams either in Oslo, Norway or Espoo, Finland. This role is key for the continued success of our Data Service Products.

We want to delight our customers with fantastic user experiences, services and a platform that exceeds their expectations. And this is where you and your fellow Product Managers will work together to create the Power Exchange of the future.

Our markets run 24/7/365 – and that means it’s tough, challenging and exciting. We don’t expect you to know or understand the complexities of power trading on day 1, but you have a passion to learn and a desire to get stuff done. While focused towards Data Services, the role will develop into a key influencer of the Power Exchange itself.

Our data services is considered an independent revenue stream for the company, and thus our Product Manager will be responsible not only for the product portfolio but also the extended business around it i.e. strategy, licensing, pricing, customer relations and P/L. An entrepreneurial spirit will be a key asset in managing day to day. Our data team consists of dev & marketing capabilities and thus the PM is expected to not only engage with dev but also drive growth.

Our data services have gone through rapid change over the last three years with new products and licenses being introduced. We expect this transition to continue with the product portfolio expanding to new domains. It will be the PM's responsibility to manage this transition and find optimal solutions for everyone.

Role and responsibilities

  • Identify the key focus areas that provide our customer base with the most tangible value in a real-time market.
  • Translate business and customer requirements into creative, effective data solutions
  • Illustrate your entrepreneurial skills to drive forward an important revenue stream for Nord Pool
  • Serve as a product evangelist with Marketing, Sales, Support, and more to help them understand the product vision, roadmap and best practices.
  • Identify, monitor, and measure an appropriate set of KPIs outside of revenue that allow us to measure and support investment in your product portfolio. Participate actively in the work within the product management group to share knowledge and grow the global organization.
  • Continuously engage with company leadership, departments and customers to sell your vision. Without vision consensus, you will not be able to realize your plans.

Requirements:

  • Higher education within IT, engineering, energy or economy.

Work-related experience can to a certain extent compensate for the

educational requirement

  • Knowledge and understanding of the power market is an advantage but not a requirement

Desired characteristics:

  • Product management know-how. Knowing how to approach problems and how to solve them will go a long way in you making the right kind of impact at Nord Pool. We expect field expertise in product management.
  • Customer obsession. No one should know your customers and markets better than you. This goes with the job.
  • Vision orientation. You will work with a wide variety of people with different opinions and ambitions. You need to ensure that you have a long-term vision that you are driving towards.
  • Solutions, not products. You need to make sure that products delivered to the market have operational robustness and success measurement embedded in them.
  • Leadership. Service leadership orientation, strong team building skills and stakeholder management.
  • Influence. You are comfortable interacting with external and internal stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Drive. High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Agility. You are comfortable with context switching, from visionary strategic work to daily business support.
  • Professional experience. Having a background in Energy Trading, financial business or banking will make your transition into this role easier.
  • You must identify with our corporate values: Together, with Integrity, towards Excellence

At Nord Pool we value our culture and strive toward creativity so, above all else, we look for like-minded professionals who are passionate, driven and creative yet possess enough humility to be a delight to work with. This role will work closely with Nord Pool’s Chief Digital Officer.

The position will be filled as soon as the right candidate is found.
