Local Unit & Position Description

To achieve the new strategy for the global Finance & Performance function the DNV Energy Systems department is looking for highly qualified Finance Performance professionals who will help us become successful. Our BA Centre of Expertise is seeking a Global Analyst who will be part of our team.

 

The Global Analyst is part of the Global Governance & Performance team and reports to the Head of Global Governance & Performance. The Global Analyst has high competence in data analysis and preparing insights using large data sets. The person in this role has deep understanding of the system landscape, available global tools and reports using data sets from different sources. The role is essential in ensuring efficient automated global tools and contributes to a culture of using and improving global solutions.

 

Key tasks

  • Using data to analyse trends and understand performance.
  • Close alignment with Finance & Performance managers to understand their needs related to global tools and methods, connect with relevant internal stakeholders to understand and document reporting requirements.
  • Translating business reporting requirements into technical reporting specifications.
  • Developing and building data models and tools for global use, including Power BI reporting solutions.
  • Developing reporting system documentation and training materials
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting of Power BI reporting solutions, including investigation of data issues and data validation to improve existing BI solutions
  • Contributing to the optimization of our financial data analytics and reports in collaboration with colleagues in the Finance & Performance function.
  • Supporting the Finance & Performance Director in analysis towards decision-making.
  • Ensuring quality of data sets
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis in coordination with the regional/BU colleagues.
  • Presenting concrete and specific advice to key stakeholders, based on data, information, and analysis, tailoring the message to the specific stakeholder.
  • Providing mentoring and training of Power BI functions to business customers

Position Qualifications

  • Master degree in Business/Finance/IT or equivalent qualification
  • 2 years of relevant work experience as a Data Analyst is preferable, but we are also open to hire a graduate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex projects with many stakeholders and shifting deadlines
  • Excellent system understanding, high competence on data quality and data analytics
  • Experience with data platforms and data visualization tools (for instance Power BI build and use), is a strong plus
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access etc.
  • Experience in designing information visualizations and dashboards
  • Manages KPI Dashboards, understands the underlying trends and preparing analysis and proposing required measures to improve the situation.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to provide insights that turn multiple option data into useful information that informs good business decisions
  • Preferably experience with Oracle Finance
  • Experience interacting with international stakeholders at all levels 
  • Comfortable working as part of a global and multi-cultural team
