FREYR plans to develop up to 43 GWh of battery cell production capacity by 2025 to position the company as one of Europe’s largest battery cell suppliers. The facilities will be located in the Mo i Rana industrial complex in Northern Norway, leveraging Norway’s highly skilled workforce and abundant, low-cost renewable energy sources from hydro and wind in a crisp, clear and energized environment. Corporate headquarters are located in the Oslo area.

FREYR will supply safe, high energy density and cost competitive clean battery cells to the rapidly growing global markets for electric vehicles, energy storage, and marine applications.

Freyr AS is hiring a Sustainability Due Diligence and Reporting Manager
We will build at least 4 battery cell factories of increasing size in Mo i Rana as a significant contribution to the transition to a green economy. Without batteries there can be no real change in the global energy system, the key to limiting global warming. These factories are a significant contribution to a more sustainable future.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are deeply committed to conducting our business responsibly and contributing to more sustainable and equitable growth. We are looking for a highly qualified Sustainability Due Diligence and Reporting Manager to ensure progress and transparency across our operations.

Tasks:

  • Establish and manage ESG disclosure and compliance process and maintain compliance and data management across ESG Workstreams
  • Establish auditable ESG data collection systems, in close cooperation with financial teams
  • Lead annual ESG reporting processes
  • Monitor, analyse and understand the impact of current and developing ESG reporting requirements, standards and frameworks (such as such GRI Standards, SASB, TCFD, UNGC, SDGs, IIRC, CDP, European Taxonomy, GHG Protocol, SBTi, etc), ESG benchmarks and indices, including relevant gap-analyses and tangible reporting deliverables
  • Annual Inventory / Review / Refresh / Development of sustainability and corporate responsibility policies
  • Mobilize technical support to enhance the environmental and social sustainability of operations
  • Establish customer and investor data request management system & coordinate response management
  • Coordinate non-financial reporting with financial disclosure teams
  • Establish process for ESG commitment approval (due diligence, understanding requirements and deliverable, formal recommendation, executive sponsor, etc.)
  • Monitor compliance with ESG commitments – coordinate regular updates, milestones, communicate deadlines and needed workstreams
  • Develop relevant implementation plans in line with the required and selected ESG reporting standards

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental science or related field
  • Knowledge of best practice non-financial reporting requirements, standards and frameworks (such as such GRI Standards, SASB, TCFD, UNGC, SDGs, IIRC, CDP, European Taxonomy, GHG Protocol, SBTi, etc.) and a good understanding of current and emerging sustainability-related regulatory requirements (such as human rights due diligence, climate change risk management, etc)
  • Experience developing data collection systems, tools, databases, models and/or software
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in English required
