Freyr AS is hiring a Next Generation ESS Manager
We will build at least 4 battery cell factories of increasing size in Mo i Rana as a significant contribution to the transition to a green economy. Without batteries there can be no real change in the global energy system, the key to limiting global warming. These factories are a significant contribution to a more sustainable future.

We are looking for highly qualified engineers and managers to ensure that Freyr becomes a world leading battery producer through developing the next generation of Energy Storage Systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION
FREYR has a clear ambition of being a frontrunner in the Energy storage space. This role will be focused on long term development of the next generation of energy storage systems for stationary industries. The ideal candidates have a fundamental understanding of battery technology and the use of such technology in real life applications. In this role you will manage the development – team working on the long term energy storage systems in FREYRs growing portfolio.

Main tasks:

• Work with product development strategy and technical project management of ESS.
• Support and manage both cell, module and pack development
• Work with product management team and third party developers
• Project manage development programs
• Support product management in new product development

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED

• Minimum of 5 years experience with energy storage related projects.
• Good understanding of the fundamentals of a lithium – ion battery and the problems faced in ESS applications in stationary industries
• Good understanding of the challenges undertaken in mechanical development
• Experience in working within quality focus systems and processes
• Relevant technical Masters degree
• Fluent in English
