Job description

As a Software Engineer in the Microchip Tools team, you will be developing functionality to our Integrated Development Environments MPLAB® X and the cloud based MPLAB Xpress ecosystem. The IDEs are used by Microchip's numerous customers to write, compile, debug and test their firmware code. We find it motivating to develop solutions used by other software engineers.

We are now looking at strengthening the development of the MPLAB® Code Configurator. This is a graphical programming environment that generates C code for our customers. You will take part in all activities required to deliver high quality software. We rely on build and test automation to ensure quality and fast feedback. The software runs on all operating systems and you will be joining a global team.

Skills and experience required

Bachelor's or Masters' degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Java
Git

Additional skills (preferred but not required)

Python
Jira, Confluence
JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience with embedded systems programming (C, C++)
Has setup CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins
Agile methodologies (Scrum), TDD, CI/CD
