Senior Accountant

The goal of the Senior Accountant is to maintain, reconcile, and report revenues, costs, expenses, fixed asset registers and performance of the company within their assigned location. The Senior Accountant will analyze and prepare the company's financial transactions in order to compile accurate and timely monthly financial statements within a defined timeline outlining material movements or variances for Senior Management review. This position is also the main point of contact with regards to any reporting, audits, or region queries and is responsible for managing the year end audit for their assigned location. 

Job overview:

• Calculates, prepares, posts a range of month end journals. Identifies and explains any variances against the budget.
• Posts payroll for the reporting month including any relevant payroll accruals
• Ensures all bank transactions are fully entered and reconciled and all Accounts Payable for the month is correctly posted
• Ensures all Accounts Receivable billing invoices are generated to the Customer
• Reviews monthly SG&A and COGS
• Reviews and maintains Fixed Asset Register to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Identifies and/or reclassifies deferred revenue to revenue in the P&L as appropriate
• Evaluates monthly costs and application of the appropriate transfer pricing rate
• Prepares consolidated monthly reporting pack and financial statements including cashflow and any changes required to the management accounts
• Reconciles monthly balance sheet accounts, including ledger to subledger to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance and provides commentary on variances
• Manages, plans and coordinates the year end audit process for their assigned location ensuring compliance on relevant matters
• Posts all transactions into Bank (AR, AP, complex intercompany transactions in different currencies, taxation) and reconciles bank daily
• Reconciles applicable VAT and Sales tax with support from Finance Manager
• Customers invoicing and follow up
• Approves expenses, ensures all expenses are paid on a timely basis
• Assists in the preparation and analysis of quarter and year-end financial statement for completeness including P&L, Balance Sheet and variance analysis
• Acts as a main point of contact with regards to any reporting, audits, or region queries
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and competencies:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related education is required 
• A license as a Qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred 
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a full cycle accounting role is required 
• Proven experience with financial reporting requirements, general ledger functions and the month end/year end close processes and audits
• Knowledge of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash-flows, with ability to analyze and recommend potential strategies
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English
• Intermediate knowledge of expense systems (Concur) 
• Intermediate knowledge of ERP systems (Xledger, SAP) 
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
