Ship Operator

Position :                                               Ship Operator

Location :                                              Bergen, Norway

Main tasks 

-        Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the vessels, including voyage planning and execution.

-        Issue voyage instructions.

-        Plan, negotiate and order Bunkers

-        Prepare Laytime calculations.

-        Prepare documentation and issue invoices.

-        Negotiate, review and approve port expenses.

-        Ongoing efforts to constantly improve processes, procedures and tools, utilized by the department.

-        Communicate with agents and vessels, and participate in the overall scheduling of the vessels.

Qualifications

-        Relevant education in logistics or equivalent marine experience.

-        Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience.

-        Highly motivated with good analytical skills, accurate and customer-oriented.

-        Sound judgment and decision-making, prioritizing safety while maintaining a commercial outlook.

-        Ability to think and plan ahead, work independently and in a team.

-        Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English.

-        Ability to manage relationships with vessels, authorities, customers, and ship managers.

-        Ethical and accountable.

-        Good computer skills in Excel and Word.
