We are looking to strengthen our R&D team and we are seeking a creative, bold and quality-oriented Software Developer who likes programming with quick and continuous feedback from the customer and daily hands-on testing on our hardware. Main responsibilities and key activities:

You will be involved from concept to delivery, be a part of a dynamic lean organization and work in an innovative and multicultural environment using agile development methods. You will also work in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines like electronics and mechanics.

The main objective of a Software Engineer at Kongsberg PCS is to design, develop, maintain and review software in a small R&D group with high ambitions for innovation, growth and new development with high focus on quality and On Time Delivery.

You will also participate in peer code review and testing, exchange technical information with the quality engineers and other members of your product group and communicate with product managers, trainers, demonstrators, and customers all around the world about the usage and innovation of the software.

Qualifications and professional knowledge:

• Passion for Software Engineering
• Master or Bachelor within computer sciences, engineering or IT
• Experience with C++, C# or .NET
• Experience with relational databases
• Good English skills, both spoken and in writing
• You are result driven and quality oriented
• You have an innovative mindset with an eye for creative solutions
• You have an analytical mind with good troubleshooting skills
• You can solve tasks independently and take responsibility when you see a need
• You are a team player thriving in small teams with a flat hierarchical structure

Desired:

• 2 years+ of experience as a Software Engineer
• Other languages (ideally Norwegian) is a plus
• Experience working with agile methodologies
• Experience with IoT applications
• Strong understanding of OOP, development and architecture patterns
• Knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP, REST, etc.)
• Knowledge about Real Time and Event-Driven system
•  Experience with embedded and/or servo controlled system development
