Have you ever had an ad out on FINN.no? Maybe you tried to sell a car or a sofa? Well, (almost) no matter what kind of ad that was, you then interacted with the Classifieds Team’s domain. The main responsibility of the team is to receive and handle ad data for both private and professional customers. Actually, this job ad that you are reading right now, found its way into FINN.no through the Classifieds Systems.

And now, this team is looking for 2 fullstack developers. The main focus will be backend development, but it is important to also have an understanding of the frontend. As a developer in the Classifieds team, you will create functionality that everyone in Norway uses. FINN.no has more than 30 million page views every day, and all functionality is delivered by a platform based on micro service architecture. You will become experienced at working with distributed systems and eventual consistency.

Most of our backend is written in Java and Kotlin and the frontend is Javascript, React, Node.js and Express. You will work with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Kafka, Grafana, Hystrix and Kibana.

We are looking for someone that is eager to be part of the whole development process, and actively works together with UX to make sure that we create the best solutions. As part of the platform department in FINN, we also focus on continuously improving the platform that the rest of FINN.no depends on.

What does a typical week at work look like?

• Develop digital products in a team with product managers, designers, tech lead and other developers

• Contribute to architecture and technology choices that support the business needs in FINN, and promote security and scalability in a good way

• Take part in code reviews, merge/pull requests, and be part of technical workshops and whiteboard sessions where we discuss, learn and explore new technologies and solutions together

• Be part of planning, design and implementation of our solutions, in an agile, lean and iterative manner

• Contribute to a great tech culture that is inclusive, professional and nurturing
