In the role of Senior Estimator, you will be part of a multidiscipline team and responsible for the development and management of all estimating deliveries to the Project, provide cost risk modelling and benchmarking support. You will be expected to perform commercial and technical reviews and make decisions and recommendations. You will participate in the delivering on our improvement agenda. 

 

Typical work tasks will be: 

  • Prepare integrated project cost estimates including calculating risk premiums and escalation requirements in line with the company's current policies and in accordance with corporate standard WBS methodology for each phase 

  • Liaise with Planning and/or Cost Disciplines in order to ensure proper alignment between Cost/Estimate and Schedule. Provide input to Finance as part of the Long Range Planning process as required  

  • Analyse, verify and conduct quality control of estimates supplied by contractor companies, internal corporate business units, and/or alliance partners to ensure they meet quality criteria  

  • Perform estimate close-out activities and update Company’s experience database of “As-built” data to ensure proper data experience capture  

  • Participate in the improvement activities to develop and ensure the quality of the estimation tools and methods  

  • Present and explain the estimate for the project management, project assurance, Finance, and other stakeholders 

  • Ensure that the estimates are traceable and are anchored on the basis of the Norwegian experience database & industry benchmarks  

  • Ensure that estimate premise is agreed, work scope, and interpretation of input is understood and accepted  

  • Prepare Estimate and CSRA reports (project estimate, basis of estimate, benchmarking and estimate report for EXPEX, CAPEX, DRILEX, OPEX, and ABEX costs associated with the project) 

  • Proactively coordinate all disciplines internally to ensure that estimates reflect the current status/maturity of design  

  • Perform and facilitate cost risk analysis activities and workshops 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree within engineering/economics or equivalent education 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including minimum 3 years as cost estimator in large  projects  

  • Have an in-depth understanding of offshore development project execution methodology and the associated Decision Gate processes and developing cost estimates in the oil & gas industry  

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel software  

  • Experience of building and running risk models using industry standard tools is desirable    

  • Experience of working on tender evaluations, preparation of bid check estimates and review of quantities in bids is desirable
