The section Environmental Loading and Response is looking for senior engineers with working experience more than 6 years. The section consists of 22 specialist engineers, of which around half of the employees holds a PhD. We are a good mix of very experienced senior principals, senior engineers and younger engineers mainly located in the office at Høvik outside Oslo.
Our main focus areas are mooring analyses, motion response analysis, advanced hydrodynamics, metocean, structural reliability and arctic engineering. We are one of the largest competence centres in Norway within hydrodynamics and have projects covering all types of marine structures for basically any location in the world.
Over the recent years we have been heavily involved with oil&gas production, drilling units, offshore wind energy, fish farming, floating bridges and floating solar energy. The engineers in the section cooperate closely with other units in DNV forming multidisciplinary teams. Our projects are related to both new builds and units in service. This has resulted in a stable workload and challenging tasks for many years.
The position offers great opportunities to apply and develop personal and technical skills in various areas dependent on qualifications and interests. Relevant activities are:
- Motion response and mooring analyses (e.g. SIMO, Riflex, SIMA, Mimosa)

- CFD (e.g. ComFlow, StarCCM+, OpenFOAM)
- Physical description of the ocean environment
- Statistical analysis and processing
- Structural reliability analysis
- Programming to ensure effective work processes
