Data Ops/Engineer @ DivisionX

We are Telia Company - Division X - Data Insights Business Unit. We are leading Telia Company’s journey of becoming truly data driven, and leveraging big data as part of our ambitions of being a New Generation Telco. We are already more than 30 highly driven, competent and curious colleagues securing our big data services and outcomes from data and analytics.

Telia Company is now looking to strengthen its team with an additional Data-Ops/Analyst Engineer. This person will be a great addition to the existing team towards the development and evolution of our big data production pipelines, ingesting a variety of data sources all the way to generating business value and insights. We are confident that we are *the* place to work for a driven big data and advanced data engineer, who wants to work hands on with big data analytics, evolving our exploratory analytics initiatives to production-ready processes and streams, thus contributing to a truly data driven company and becoming a New Generation Telco.

You will be working in an international team comprised of dedicated Software Engineers and Data Scientist and Analysts, with all our countries to develop insights, analytics and innovation from true big data. The data we work with is big in its truest form, leveraging cloud computing and a modern architecture to deliver relevant, and high quality and recurrent insights to our Nordics and Baltics footprint.

Is this your next opportunity?

As a DataOps Engineer/Analyst, you will be instrumental in creating/strengthening our data processing pipelines and infrastructure in order to help automate Analytics and Insights algorithms at scale, securely, and efficiently on our Big Data. You will be part of Telia’s Data Insights International Business Unit team and work closely with a range of awesome multidisciplinary engineers.

For this role we are looking for an enthusiastic person with focus on excellent code quality and delivery skills and who is also a real team player with good communication skills, a very good ability to learn/adapt as well as a problem-solving attitude. You are ready to take on challenges to find and resolve issues within Big Data processing, you work proactively and pragmatically to ensure quality and speed of delivery. You are good at finding the correct balance between exploration and execution and you understand how to leverage the team's capabilities and capacity to reach our goals. We offer a challenging position with plenty of opportunities in an exciting and growing business area.

Your Experience:

• You hold a degree within IT, Data Science or any relevant education. Relevant experience can replace insufficient education.
• You are profficient in Python and SQL and are able to write notebooks, review code and find bugs in simple functions. You are good at using pandas and understand how to map, filter and reduce.
• You have worked with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, etc and have integrated datasets to feed those.
• You can make simple invocations to APIs and have worked with containers (Docker / Kubernetes)
• You have ideally built and run AI/ML models in a production environment
• Proficient in English, both oral and written and able to formulate complex cases/situations to a variety of target groups. Swedish/Norwegian is a plus.
• Must be structured, focused and work proactively.
• Have the ability to solve problems immediately and proactively while still considering long-term effects
• It is a plus if you have experience with GCP
