The Team
The Hardware Tools team is a dedicated team of 21 hardware and software engineers, mainly located in Oslo, Norway. We are responsible for delivering world-class development tools for Silicon Labs’ current and future portfolio of IoT devices, like microcontrollers, wireless devices, and sensor devices.
Our tasks span from design specification to following up our contract manufacturer, ensuring timely delivery of almost 150 different development kit types to customers worldwide. Within the team we develop hardware, embedded software, cross-platform PC software and scripts for automation. We also design our own hardware and software infrastructure for circuit board production tests and firmware regression tests.
The Role
We are seeking a senior software developer with a strong background in embedded systems design. Key responsibilities will be software development, spanning from developing and maintaining RTOS-based embedded projects to production test, regression tests, automation and PC side CLI and GUI tools.
Who Are You?
You are a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or have an equivalent education. You have minimum 5 years of professional experience with hardware and software development.
Technical qualifications:
- Software designer with deep knowledge of all phases of software development.
- Solid understanding of real-time embedded software development.
- Solid understanding of debug software.
- Experience reviewing schematics from the perspective of software
- Experience/knowledge in low-power software design techniques.
- Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as C/C++ and Python.
- Good understanding of embedded systems, or the desire to learn more about the interaction between hardware, firmware and software in an embedded system.
- Interest for automation/scripting of tasks.
- Interest for development processes.
