THE POSITION: As an Electronics Design Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of Heimdall Power’s business. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing electronics hardware for the sensing system. Your work has the potential to shape the digitization of our electrical grids.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Heimdall Power is seeking a passionate Electronics Design Engineer to join our Technology team in Oslo! As an Electronics Design Engineer at our company, you will be part of the team responsible for the complete HW development lifecycle. You would preferably have a good understanding of embedded software, and experience with various microcontrollers and sensors. You will be part of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary dynamic organization creating and commercializing new technologies that enable us to deliver on our mission to digitize the electrical grid.
Responsibilities:
- Design and test electronics hardware from concept to mass production
- Contribute to system specification and design
- Test and validation of solutions, as well as hands-on troubleshooting
- Contribute to the development of production tests
- Understand, adopt, and refine best design practices
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
Your qualifications:
- BS/MS in Electronics or equivalent
- Good knowledge and experience with schematics and PCB layout
- Strong understanding of component and sensor selections
- Ability to work in team with other engineers and functions, gather information, and share knowledge
- Strong understanding of digital design, microprocessor, and CMOS device operation
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of using Altium Designer for schematics and PCB layout
- Experience with environmental testing and accelerated lifetime testing
- Knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debugging
- Understanding and experience with embedded software
- Analog circuit design understanding and experience
- Experience with communication protocols like UART, I2C, SPI and I2S
- Experience with types of networking such as mesh networks, LTE-M, CAT-M1, LORA and Bluetooth
- Experience with high voltage systems
- Experience with EMC optimization
