Leger Uten Grenser (MSF Norway) is an organization that employs approximately 200 people. In 2020 we raised over 470 million NOK, of which 80 % went directly towards our social mission of providing medical assistance to populations affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or healthcare exclusion.

MSF Norway needs the best possible technology to facilitate collaboration across the organization and with other MSF sections. The Head of IT maintains all IT implementations as they are today, but also has a strong strategic role in advising the Management Team on what gains can be made by introducing new technology. He or she works closely with IT Managers across MSF, to make sure that the office in Norway aligns with agreed standards across the international organization. He or she also safeguards the highest possible standard of service to all staff at Leger Uten Grenser. The Head of IT leads a small team on a day-to-day basis and reports to the Facilities Manager.

Main responsibilities

Daily management of MSF Norway’s IT systems and platforms, including monitoring, preventive maintenance, security, documentation and user support.
Strategic advice to the Management Team on additional technology that facilitates the work of staff at MSF Norway.
Collaborate with all departments to identify and map functional and technical needs and requirements. Briefing and training of new staff.
Maintain and build good relationships with other IT departments across MSF.
Maintain and build vendor relationships and manage the purchase of hardware and software products. Budget responsibility for IT related accounts.
Oversee all help desk activities as well as hardware and software set up. Daily management of IT Support Technician.

Qualifications and competences

Experience in managing a comprehensive work-site IT environment (minimum 3 years).
Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area (information technology, systems development, computer science/engineering (valuable)).
Broad experience with management of IT-systems (knowledge of operating systems and applications, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting and trends within system development and usage, excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, proven experience in administrating Azure, familiar with hybrid solutions combining on-premise and cloud, knowledge of CRM Systems particularly Salesforce).
Outstanding skills in planning and organizing (project management).
Experience with user support and problem solving.
Fluency in English (working proficiency in Norwegian would be an asset).
