Junior Project Cost Controller

We have a vacant position in Norway Finance for a Junior Project Cost Controller, located in Stavanger. This role is a perfect stepping-stone to becoming a Project Cost Controller, ideally suited to a candidate with an Accounting & Finance, or similar, degree who wishes to start a career and professional development in a supportive environment. We are looking for a newly graduated candidate with up to 2 years work experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Take personal responsibility for self-development by working towards and demonstrating full knowledge and understanding of the various competencies crucial for Project Cost Controller role
• Assist Senior Project Cost Controller in all aspects of cost control of assigned projects including forecasting and commitment tracking of man-hours, procurement activities and vessel operations
• Assist in the month end process by ensuring that the project accurately reflects all costs and revenues to date, including any accruals or prepayments
• Assist Senior Project Cost Controller in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and sensitivity analysis for their projects
• Analyse variances from as-bid financials by building a detailed monthly analysis of variances from prior forecast
• Prepare month end project reports and review them with Senior Project Cost Controller and Project Manager
• Attend project/Client meetings and provide relevant financial input and reports as required
• Prepare and issue project invoices to the Client
• Assist Senior Project Cost Controller in preparation of project cash flows in support of the Group's Treasury requirements for cash flow forecasting
• Any other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Professional qualifications - University level Business Degree, ideally in Finance, Accounting or Cost Management
• Strong Excel knowledge

• Clear and effective oral and written communications skills. Able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
