Group Accounting (GA) is responsible for the Consolidated Financial Statements for Telenor Group. GA is a group of 11 highly skilled and motivated people, divided into a Technical Expert Group, Accounting Managers and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR). The Technical Expert Group is responsible for implementation of new and amended accounting standards (IFRS) and consistent application of the accounting principles implemented by Telenor. Accounting Managers follow up reporting from our subsidiaries and assist local accounting teams in complex accounting and reporting issues. GA is on an ongoing basis heavily involved in assisting projects run by other department outside GA. Our team members are of 8 different nationalities.
 

The position as Director in Group Accounting will be part of the Technical Expert Group, responsible for ensuring that the external quarterly and annual reporting of Telenor Group?s consolidated financial statements and notes disclosures are in accordance with IFRS. Activities include preparing and reviewing Quarterly and Annual Reports for the Group, resolving accounting issues, ad hoc reporting and support to the Group CFO and Group Executive Management. Further, the Technical Expert Group supports the finance and accounting departments of the Business Units and other Group Finance functions such as Controlling, Planning and Analysis, Investor Relations, Treasury, Merger & Acquisitions and Tax, and is responsible for organizing and conducting the Disclosure Committee Meetings.

Your responsibilities and tasks include:

• Ensure high quality in the external financial reporting (Quarterly and Annual Report) for the Telenor Group
• Accounting and reporting related tasks such as performing analytical controls of the financial statements for the Telenor Group
• Resolving technical accounting issues, including supporting Business Units and Accounting Managers regarding accounting related issues
• Internal reporting to the Disclosure Committee and the Audit Committee
• Have a detailed understanding/knowledge of the financial development of the Telenor Group
• To ensure that the accounting policies for the Telenor Group at all times is relevant and in accordance to the IFRS standards
• Responsible for developing and conducting IFRS training within the Telenor Group
• Project related tasks such as Purchase Price Allocations, due diligence, M&A support, etc.

We think you have the following qualifications:

• Master in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or similar
• Professional certifications in external financial audit (CPA).
• Project management experience
• Extensive IFRS experience and knowledge 
• Excellent consolidation skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English language
• Advanced IT skills; HFM (Hyperion) and Microsoft Office
• Practical experience from Telecom industry or similar is preferable
