Aker Solutions’ Controls R&D department at Tranby, is responsible for design and development of next-generation subsea control systems, electrical actuators, condition and performance monitoring and electrification of subsea products. The department is a spearhead within the company, developing new technologies and enabling digitalization.Controls R&D consists of 4 discipline teams:

• Product Architecture & Test
• Embedded Electronics & Mechanics
• Embedded Software & Configuration
• Product Support & Sustaining

Our development strategy is built on state-of-the-art processes and methodology, such as agile, virtualization and model-driven development. The departments have direct access to in-house lab facilities with equipment and tools for concept development, prototyping and testing.

We are looking for a Product Manager – SEM (Subsea Electronic Modules) to take the lead in developing the next generation Subsea control systems through electrification and digitalization. As Product Manager you will be part of the product development team, defining the future for Subsea Oil & Gas, electrifying the operations and introducing low carbon initiatives. You will also have a central role in the transition to a sustainable future within renewable energy production.

What will you be doing?

• Product Manager will have the overall product ownership for our product portfolio of SEM’s and electrical actuators
• Be the product visionary, working closely with global functions and clients, defining the solutions roadmap that brings Aker Solutions to the forefront of Subsea Controls and All Electric Subsea systems
• Be a thought leader around how to effectively manage a portfolio of products and product variants, in terms of Product Structure Management, digital services, but also business processes, organization and business models
• Participate in studies and tenders defining Aker Solutions offerings
• Work with the development team in setting the course and communicate well defined requirements, making sure new products are developed in high quality, on time
• Balance a wide range of stakeholders needs and wants, make priorities and securing that we develop for the future
• Able to manage the relationships with both customer (client) and suppliers
• Be the market voice participating in seminars, conferences and committees
• Able to plan, manage and structure support needs, and lead root cause analysis
• Owning the product training program for the wider organization

We think you should have:

• B/MSc degree within electronics, cybernetics or similar
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in product management and/or product development
• Experience from embedded electronics/software development
• Familiar with relevant industry standards
• Experience from SIL rated development is a bonus
• Good people and communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English
