Wärtsilä is looking for a project manager within Electrical and Power Management Systems (EPMS), who is committed to sustainable solutions and wants to build expertise in the maritime industry. This role is permanent and prefferably located in Stord, Norway also Hamburg, Germany may be relevant. 

As a Project Manager within EPMS you will deliver a variety of integrated electrical systems including innovative battery hybrid and full electric solutions to both the newbuild and aftermarket segments. You will lead a project team through all stages from engineering design to delivery and commissioning of a project in the global maritime market. Our focus is flexible and sustainable solutions for the future.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Leading, managing and developing his/her assigned Project organisation(s).
• Planning and leading the execution of assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle from start up to project closure
• Demonstrating that Wärtsilä guidelines and best practices are applied in the projects/activities
• Reporting progress status compared to baseline plans.
• Maintaining and improving the stakeholder relationship
• Able to oversee several projects simultaneously.
• Actively participate in sales support, bid work, and customer visits.
• At all times keep financial reporting systems updated in project execution.
• Lead and support others through change.
• Visionary and empowered to actively follow global trends and new development within Wärtsilä.

Our preferred candidate can plan, manage and execute projects according to agreed scope of delivery between the customer and Wärtsilä. You will be actively involved in the preparation and evaluation of tenders and have a commercial responsibility in the project. You are also responsible for developing and stimulating the team members with a focus on quality, EHS and skills development.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have: 

• Bachelor’s degree within an electrical / systems / automation field
• Experience might compensate for lack of formal education
• Experience as a project manager
• Good business sense
• Understanding of the key project methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMBoK
• Good language skills in English, orally and in writing
• Language skills in Norwegian is a benefit
