R&D Chemist - Color specialist - Temporary position

We are looking for a temporary R&D Chemist with specialist knowledge of colors and pigments in our Competence Center - Color & Effects. The core responsibilities of this position is to build, develop and maintain color and pigment knowledge to strengthen the Competence Centre. The department serves all units in our Powder Coatings organization, delivering competence on pigments and colors.

In this role you will develop and maintain the raw material assortment of pigments and extenders as well as development of products and technologies within the powder coatings area, allowing the powder segment to meet its strategic goals, by ensuring and strengthening the position as market and technology leader. The position is located in our brand new laboratory facilities at our global headquarters in Sandefjord, Norway.

Duties and responsibilities

• Act as technical leader for assigned innovation and technology projects.
• Plan and execute activities on innovation and technology projects assigned by the R&D Management.
• Formulate, test and evaluate powder recipes in accordance to relevant requirements and standards.
• Systematically document, analyze and report results from development and maintenance work, make conclusions and recommendations.
• Develop and implement test methods relevant to evaluation of product performance, contributing to efficiency and quality of the development process.
• Search for and make use of relevant knowledge.
• Perform tasks on maintenance of existing products and evaluation of new/alternative raw materials.
• Be a technical resource for customer support, commercial and production teams within the area of responsibility.
• Assure experimental work to be performed in a safe and secure environment, monitor order and cleanliness at work place and in the lab.
  
  

Qualifications

Education and experience in Research and Development:

• BSc in Chemistry, with 4-6 years of relevant experience or;
• MSc in Chemistry.

Good general understanding of IT systems.
Excellent English language skills - both written and spoken.
