The Position

As our new Project Manager, you will report to our Head of Fiber & Infrastructure NO and be part of Fiber & Infrastructure NO. The Technology – Fiber & Infrastructure NO department is responsible for project management, planning, development/modifications, documentation, and management of GlobalConnect's nationwide fiber network and infrastructure and ensures that customer deliveries can be realized optimally.

The position has the main function of ensuring the best possible utilization of the infrastructure and not least ensuring that active/passive network and site structure is developed/managed in the best possible way. You will be responsible for cooperation and negotiation with vendors of physical infrastructure, public authorities, power companies, site owners, and other collaborative partners. 

Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager – Infrastructure you will be responsible for establishing and executing the following responsibilities:

• Project management for fiber migration/optimization projects incl. cost control.
• Ensuring the best possible utilization of the fiber infrastructure and ensuring that fiber network elements are developed/managed in the best possible way.
• Order fiber deliveries for building fiber infrastructure in core networks by using Sugar.
• Perform planning for building, re-construction, and documentation work in Smallworld for fiber infrastructure.
• Quality control of fiber infrastructure.
• Deviation management of quality and HMS.
• Prepare and manage agreements with other operators and public agencies.
• Manage relevant external systems (K-grave, Byggfakta, El-smart).
• Support and provide input for business analysis and cost optimization to other departments.

• Engineer or equivalent (broad relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education).
• Experience in installation, planning, documentation and establishing fiber infrastructure.
• Relevant education/certification on telecommunications and power systems.
• Expertise in how modern infrastructure is realized and documented.
• Expertise by using Smallworld documentation system.
• Driver's license B.
