Front-end development Teaching position

Noroff Vocational School seeks new staff in Front-end Development. You will collaborate closely with a highly competent team in delivering our Front-end study program, and we are looking for candidates that have excellent communication and teamwork skills as well as relevant work experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teaching, engaging, and inspiring students and staff through both classroom and online delivery.
• Contribute to development of required teaching material for both classroom and online delivery
• Contribute to the maintenance and development of existing courses
• Develop and run practical assessments and ensure adequate feedback to students
• Foster and maintain contact with the industry sector at a local level
• Communicate effectively with colleagues andstudents through internal networks and the sharing of ideas and information

Skills and Qualifications you must have:

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or two year vocational education
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3

• Deep understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing tools, such as LESS and SASS
• Deep understanding of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks
• Good understanding of principles such as mobile-first and responsive design
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

Skills and qualifications we wish that you have:

• Understand and/or experience with React and Redux
• Cross-browser testing
• Pedagogic competence / teacher qualification
• Teaching / instructor / tutor experience
• Experience from designing, developing and implementation of curriculum
• Experience with online teaching
• Formal pedagogical background. We offer pedagogical training if necessary
• Knowledge and understanding of Higher Education
