FREYR plans to develop up to 43 GWh of battery cell production capacity by 2025 to position the company as one of Europe’s largest battery cell suppliers. The facilities will be located in the Mo i Rana industrial complex in Northern Norway, leveraging Norway’s highly skilled workforce and abundant, low-cost renewable energy sources from hydro and wind in a crisp, clear and energized environment. Corporate headquarters are located in the Oslo area.

FREYR will supply safe, high energy density and cost competitive clean battery cells to the rapidly growing global markets for electric vehicles, energy storage, and marine applications.

We need a Vice President of HR & Sustainability to help build one of Norway's fastest growing organisations from a group of 40 to a workforce of over 1500 in two to three years.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Sequenced building of growing production units in Mo i Rana
• Potential for other production facilities in other geographies
• Blending competence primarily from battery technology with process industry into a potent performance culture
• Building an HR & Sustainability function

Main tasks:

• Contribute to development of strategy, policies and standards for all HR & Sustainability areas except health & safety
• Contribute to development of and administrate onboarding systems
• Contribute to development of an inclusive performance culture
• Contribute to and administrate competence development and career systems
• Contribute to development and administrate pay, insurance and negotiation systems
• Contribute to development of leadership capability
• Administrate necessary HR- systems
• Contribute to development of portfolio-wide initiatives in key Sustainability topics (i.e. inclusion & diversity, climate change, employee engagement) by strategizing and implementing timely initiatives
• Engaging with investment teams to mitigate material Sustainability risks and/or create value
• Working closely with client-facing teams and assist with LP Sustainability due diligence
• Contribute to developing a consistent and scalable approach to Sustainability data collection, validation, and reporting
• Building working relationships across the company with investment, client-facing, product, and senior management colleagues to support strategy implementation and communication

The VP HR & Sustainability will report to EVP of Operations, be member of the Operations Management Team and have a dotted line to EVP of HR, Sustainability and Communication

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

• Minimum of 10 years experience in HR roles including deep practical experience in both personnel and organisational development areas
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a combination of management consulting, inhouse sustainability management
• Significant management experience
• Relevant education, preferably at Masters level or above
• Fluent in English

WHAT WE OFFER

Energy storage is an important key to the world's switch to a sustainable, green economy. Freyr is a frontrunner in Europe's rush to build capacity in battery production. A shift from fossil fuel to electricity-from-renewables could deliver 75 - 90% of the CO2 emission reductions required.
