FREYR plans to develop up to 43 GWh of battery cell production capacity by 2025 to position the company as one of Europe’s largest battery cell suppliers. The facilities will be located in the Mo i Rana industrial complex in Northern Norway, leveraging Norway’s highly skilled workforce and abundant, low-cost renewable energy sources from hydro and wind in a crisp, clear and energized environment. Corporate headquarters are located in the Oslo area.

FREYR will supply safe, high energy density and cost competitive clean battery cells to the rapidly growing global markets for electric vehicles, energy storage, and marine applications.

Head of Corporate Quality
We are looking for a candidate to lead the development, implementation and operations of Quality systems, competence, capacity, processes, etc in FREYR Battery.

FREYR Battery is going to build 5 battery cell factories in Mo i Rana in Norway over the next 4 years and will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange in May this year. Our business proposition is that the world needs an energy transition to avoid climate change, that batteries are key enablers to make this transition happen over the next decades and those batteries need to change from todays’ coal-based offerings into low-carbon, sustainably produced batteries.

The person who takes on this role will be responsible for building a management system, a compliance culture and the needed organisational competence that secures the quality and safety of our people, assets and products across the value chain according to the standards of our customers in the automotive industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced quality leader who can build this functional expertise and deliveries critical to FREYR Battery’s business and at the very highest level of standards.

The candidate must have experience from working with quality and management systems in an international company with an international work force within process manufacturing operations as well as from large construction projects. Setting the strategic agenda in this area, offering corporate competency and leadership as well as supporting the building of an organisational culture and competence in quality, is an important experience we are looking for. The candidate needs to be a strong communicator and exert strong direct as well as indirect influential leadership.

As a start-up being listed on the New York Stock Exchange the company will be in the process of developing and implementing goals, standards, policies, procedures, and processes according to the business strategy over the coming years. We will have automotive industry as our customers and the quality requirements to our whole value chain – including suppliers - will be set accordingly. This role will lead this effort. Freyr Battery is planning to start operations from our pilot plan in 1H 2022 and the first Giga factory in 1H 2023.

Head of Corporate Quality is reporting to VP Safety, Security and Management System

Main tasks include:
Develop, implement and lead;

• Our Quality Systems according to automotive standards across all functions in the company and with our suppliers and partners

Important internal relationships in the role (in addition to direct leader):

• COO and operations leadership team
• Projects and technology leadership team
• Sales leadership team
• Internal auditor
• EVP Supply Chain Management
• CFO on Sox and Coso requirements
• VP Sustainability on ESG requirements
• Chief legal Officer (compliance officer)
• VP IT and VP HR

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

• 10 years’ experience working with corporate management systems in international process industry
• Experience in setting corporate strategic direction
• Experience in structuring and leading projects
• Minimum education at Bachelor level
• English and Nordic language skills written and oral necessary

Advantageous:

• Experience from automotive supplier industry beneficial
