Materials Engineering Department (MED) has a vacant position as:
Materials engineer
The technical department in Subsea & Land Business Group has the overall system and product responsibility and is the ultimate technical authority in the business group. The technical department consists of and has the responsibility for R&D, Materials Engineering, System and Product Management, as well as advanced analysis. We are strengthening the team within Materials Engineering and are looking for a candidate that is ready to help us electrifying the future.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the department has relevant up-to-date technical competence within a defined selection of materials.
- Ensure materials technology competence with regards to selection of sub-suppliers, process-ability and application
- Specify and qualify materials for cables, umbilicals and accessories.
- Manage and participate in R&D projects
- Technical follow up of material suppliers
- Take part in trouble shooting and root cause analysis.
- Participate in engineering processes with materials expertise
Your qualifications and skills:
- University degree MSc / PhD or similar in materials technology.
- Able to work independently
- Practically oriented
- Adaptable
- Fluency both in written and spoken English and Scandinavian language
