Job Description: 

  • Lead the Technical Safety discipline work in the project in alignment with the project’s follow-up strategy.
  • Responsible for the overall technical safety design in line with the Company strategy.
  • Responsible for the overall design of technical safety solutions, and secure technical integrity of barriers in design and execution.
  • Within own discipline, drive engineering efficiency, secure safety in design, design-to-cost and constructability.
  • Ensure experience transfer from similar projects, operations and discipline networks and vice-versa.
  • Ensure that Company requirements and Authority requirements are understood by Contractor and implemented in the design.
  • Ensure that the design is fit for purpose, and in accordance with given requirements and regulations.
  • Ensure that the discipline work is performed in according to the ‘The Company book’.
  • As part of an engineering management team, contribute to decision making, planning, project risk, quality and control activities.
  • Ensure that the technical safety design is developed, optimized and in accordance with the discipline requirements of the contract.
  • Deliver overall safe, energy- and cost-efficient system solutions.
  • Identify and address risks/concerns, and contribute to closing of technical uncertainties (risks).
  • Establish a good dialogue and effective collaboration with Contractor’s discipline.
  • Follow up of Contractor’s Technical Safety engineering activities and performance on a daily basis.
  • Risk-based follow up of Contractor’s discipline work/ deliverables to ensure quality in design (review of documents, drawings, calculations, etc.) and progress in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Ensure that discipline requirements are maintained in the procurement packages and in interface with other contracts.
  • Clarify important interfaces towards e.g. operations or other project disciplines, and contribute to resolve interface issues.
  • Within own discipline, drive engineering efficiency, secure safety in design, design-to-cost and constructability.
  • Contribute to minimum change philosophy.
  • Solve technical safety engineering issues at discipline level. Respond to Technical Clarifications (TC), Project Change Proposals (PCP) and Non Conformance Requests (NCR) in due time.
  • Contribute and provide input to internal project evaluations, documentation and deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment with the professional ladder.

Qualification Requirements: 

  • Master degree and 8+ years relevant experience OR Bachelor degree and 12+ years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge within Company's governing documentation.
  • Experience with engineering and construction contractors.
  • High focus on HSE, ethics and Company values.
  • Well-developed cooperation- and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work structured, systematic and towards a target.
  • Multidiscipline understanding and ability to work ‘across’ all areas in the project.
  • Ability to handle responsibility and periodically high workloads.
  • Travels or mobility can be required.
