We are currently strengthening our R&D effort in the area of polymer processing and application and offer excellent career opportunities within Norner's R&D group. The main target for Norner is development of sustainable plastic solutions. Within the polymer processing and application area, research projects and client projects involve areas such as:

  • Circular economy solutions for thermoplastic polymers
  • Development of new thermoplastic consumer product solutions for customers and in funded projects
  • Relevant testing methods to characterize the properties and quality of thermoplastic polymer products
  • Market studies for polymer applications
  • Benchmarking of materials
  • Develop samples for demonstration
  • Provide technical assistance and support to Sales, and Marketing in support of application testing, development work, commercialization and other cross-functional activities
  • Develop and protect intellectual property associated with product or processes

 

The position involves close contact with customers and work related to new solutions in the whole value chain, including project work within compounding, processing and end-use application of thermoplastic polymers.

 

The work will be in several areas (assignment will be depended on the qualification of the candidate):

  • Close contact to raw material producers, polymer suppliers and end users
  • Utilization and development of thermoplastic processing methods and new product solutions
  • Development and interpretation of thermoplastic products performance testing
  • Circular economy solutions for thermoplastic materials
  • Compile & analyse data
  • Provide recommendation for improvement
  • Knowledge sharing seminars
  • Project Management

 

You must have:

  • Master’s degree in Material Science and/or Mechanical (preferable PhD related to thermoplastic polymers or work experience related to polymer industry)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in laboratory, processing or R&D environment

  • Raw materials being used (polymers, preferably polyolefins)

  • Experience with intellectual property
  • Proven project management skills
  • Fluent spoken/written English
  • Good communication skills
