We are currently strengthening our R&D effort in the area of thermoplastic composite and offer excellent career opportunities within Norner's R&D group. The main target for Norner is development of sustainable plastic solutions. Within the thermoplastic composite area, research projects and client projects involve areas such as:

• Market studies for thermoplastic composite applications
• Benchmarking of materials
• Development of polyolefins for good adhesion with the glass or carbon reinforcement
• Establish relevant testing methods to characterize the quality of the fiber/matrix interphase
• Development of new thermoplastic composite solutions for customers and in public funded projects
•  Develop samples for demonstration
• Provide technical assistance and support to Sales, and Marketing in support of application testing, development work, commercialization and other cross-functional activities
• Develop and protect intellectual property associated with product or processes

The position involves close contact with customers and work related to new solutions in the whole value chain, including project work within compounding, processing and end-use application of composites and polymers.

The work will be in several areas (assignment will be depended on the qualification of the candidate):

• Close contact to raw material producers, composite suppliers and end users
• Development of new methods for composite production
• Development and interpretation of composite performance testing
• Compile & analyse data
• Provide recommendation for improvement
• Knowledge sharing seminars
• Project Management

You must have:

• Master’s degree in Material Science and/or Mechanical (preferable PhD related to thermoplastic composites or work experience related to polymer industry)
• Minimum of 4 years experience working in laboratory or R&D environment
