We are currently strengthening our R&D effort in the area of catalysis, polymerization & processes and offer excellent career opportunities within Norner's R&D group. The main target for Norner is development of sustainable plastic solutions. Within the polymerisation area, research projects and client projects involve areas such as:
- Polyolefin Catalyst synthesis
- Benchmarking of novel and commercial catalysts
- Development of new catalyst products and processes
- Polymerisation and product development
- Provide technical assistance and support to Sales, and Marketing in support of application testing, development work, commercialization and other cross-functional activities
- Develop and protect intellectual property associated with product or processes
The position involves close contact with customers including project work within catalysts, polymerisation, polymer synthesis, evaluation/testing and upscaling.
The work include several areas (assignment will be depended on the qualification of the candidate):
- Polyolefin catalyst synthesis
- Testing and evaluation of polymerization catalysts
- Polyolefin polymerisation and polymer properties
- Capability improvement and troubleshooting activities for catalyst testing
- Participate to drive continued improvements in safe and efficient catalyst testing/evaluation
- Compile & analyse data to ensure quality/insight and provide data to customers and project teams, provide recommendation for improvement
- Design of pilot units and performing upscaling studies
- Process modelling & optimization
- Project Management
You must have:
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering and/or Chemistry (preferable PhD related to polymer catalysis)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working in laboratory or R&D environment and/or chemical processes. Industrial experience is an advantage
We value:
- Experience in upscaling chemical (catalytic) processes from laboratory to pilot or full scale
- Experience in catalyst development (preferably polyolefin catalysts)
- Experience in catalytic process development (preferably polyolefin processes)
- Experience in chemical process modelling (preferably Aspen) and early phase cost estimation
- Experience in working with hazardous chemicals, especially at high pressures and temperatures
- Proven laboratory working practice and high HSE standards
- Proven project management skills
- Fluent in spoken/written English
- Experience from industry
- Good communication skills
