We are currently strengthening our R&D effort in the area of chemical recycling of plastic waste and offer excellent career opportunities within Norner's R&D group. The main target for Norner is development of sustainable plastic solutions. For this position we envision research projects and client projects such as:

  • Validation of technical solutions for chemical recycling
  • Development and improvement of plastic waste thermal and catalytic conversion processes
  • Heading engineering projects for pilot-plants
  • Provide technical assistance and support to Sales, and Marketing in support of application testing, development work, commercialization and other cross-functional activities
  • Develop and protect intellectual property associated with product or processes


The position involves close contact with customers and work related to new solutions in the whole value chain, including project work within feed stock evaluation, chemical reactions, process development and optimisation, conversion, additivation, and end-use application development.

 

The work will be in several areas (assignment will be depended on the qualification of the candidate):

  • Development of new processes within chemical recycling, including product upgrading
  • Development of advanced methods for feedstock and product testing
  • Preparation of documents, technical specifications, equipment selection, perform tender work, sending RFQ, clarification and communicate with vendors
  • Review and validate the feasibility of project proposals
  • Technical Economic Analysis
  • Pinch analysis and process integration. Process optimisation
  • Compile & analyse data
  • Knowledge sharing seminars
  • Engineering Project Management including CVP processes


You must have:

  • Master’s degree in chemical and/or mechanical engineering (preferable PhD related to plastics or work experience related to polymer industry)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working in laboratory or R&D environment
  • Proven project management skills
  • Experience with HAZOP and HAZID

 

We value:

  • Experience in plastic waste recycling (preferable chemical recycling processes)
  • Experience in polyolefins and polymerization processes
  • Proficiency with machine design, piping and instrumentation design and mechanical layouts for chemical pilots
  • Experience in chemical process modelling and early phase cost estimation.
  • Ability to prepare documents, technical specifications, equipment selection, perform tender preparation work, sending RFT, clarification and communicate with vendors
  • Ability to review and validate the feasibility of project proposals
  • Experience with intellectual property
  • Experience in using variety of design tools including chemical simulation softwares
  • Knowledge in process digitalization and automatization/autonomation
  • Fluent in spoken/written English
  • Good communication skills
