FREYR plans to develop up to 43 GWh of battery cell production capacity by 2025 to position the company as one of Europe’s largest battery cell suppliers. The facilities will be located in the Mo i Rana industrial complex in Northern Norway, leveraging Norway’s highly skilled workforce and abundant, low-cost renewable energy sources from hydro and wind in a crisp, clear and energized environment. Corporate headquarters are located in the Oslo area.
FREYR will supply safe, high energy density and cost competitive clean battery cells to the rapidly growing global markets for electric vehicles, energy storage, and marine applications.

Battery Cell Technologists
We are looking for people to fill roles in our battery cell technology team at various levels, i.e. Cell Engineer, Manager Cell R&D and Principal Engineers Cell R&D.
The right candidates will join a team that will finalise our breakthrough technology platform in co-operation with 24M, our technology partner. This work is central to ensuring that the factories we are building are efficient and produce high quality battery cells.

- Making electrode and cell based on the recipe from our technical partner
- Adjusting and fine tuning for the recipe to fit the required materials
- Evaluation of cell performance
- Analysing the data from the viewpoint of electrical chemistry + assessment of main issues
- Making plan to solve any issues
- Cell design and simulation based on chemistry
- Basic evaluation of new materials
The Battery Cell Technologists reports to CTO, Head of R&D or Manager cell R&D depending on the position
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in battery material, battery electrode or battery cell for R&D
- Significant electrochemical experience
- Relevant Masters degree
- Fluent in English
- Experience of working in an international company
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Make a hypothesis from problem
- Takes personal responsibility
- Commercial mindset

WHAT WE OFFER
We offer the right candidate an important role in developing Norway's first battery cell production facilities. Energy storage is an important key to the world's switch to a sustainable, green economy. Freyr is a frontrunner in Europe's rush to build capacity in battery production. A shift from fossil fuel to electricity-from-renewables could deliver 75 - 90% of the CO2 emission reductions required.
