A Home for a Home - SOS Children's Villages Project Manager

"Everyone needs a home. Everyone deserves a home. And home is much more than just walls, furniture, and logistics. It is, or should be, shelter and protection, a safe haven in a world of turbulence. A place of acceptance, of belonging and with people that matter. Where memories are made. Where we are made. Without a home we are lost."

With our strong values and customer centred mindset, we enrich and simplify life for over
200 000 people through Friendly Homes, and the positive impact in what we do shall go beyond the expected. Therefore, we are taking our societal contribution to the next level and are proud and excited to present A Home for a Home - a program that will make a huge difference for children and families all over the world.

A Home for a Home is a partnership between Heimstaden and the non-profit organization SOS Children's Villages to fight poverty and uncertainty for children across the globe and will over the years become the largest corporate contribution in SOS Children's Villages globally and probably the biggest partnership of any kind for SOS Children's Villages.

In A Home for a Home, Heimstaden will annually donate 100 Euro to SOS Children's Villages for each home we own and with more than 100 000 apartments in our portfolio (and growing) we contribute over 10 million Euro the first year.

By contributing financially and with our expertise of creating real homes for children and families, we need a professional, experienced, and passion-driven individual to lead the way and ensure that we maximize the value impact of the cooperation. We promise challenging and exciting tasks, the opportunity to do good (with resources) and unique international projects working across the countries both within Heimstaden and SOS Children's Villages. Besides from offering you probably the most exciting role you will see published in 2021, you will work with a dedicated and competent team of colleagues located in our office in Oslo and report to our Chief Corporate Communications Officer.

No single day will be like the other - but your responsibilities will include

  • Create, conceptualise, and execute Heimstaden/SOS Children's Villages' long-term strategy, the short-term activity plan and social responsibility KPI's.
  • Responsible for internal and external communication and marketing in cooperation with the communication teams
  • Develop the long-term platform for both employees and customers to join the movement of "A Home for a Home".
  • Contribute to Heimstaden's culture and purpose.
  • Responsible for budget, follow-up and reporting of activities and finances.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between Heimstaden and SOS Children's Villages and other partners.

To succeed in the role you must be

a Jack of all Trades with a big heart and sharp mind. You have a minimum of 5 years project management experience from setting up and driving international projects of similar nature from start to end. You have most likely spent of 3-5 years in senior management positions within suitable industry positions, e.g. working with corporate social responsibility projects within Sustainability, Communications, HR or similar. Or you may come from non-profit organizations like UN, Sida etc.

You have project management and organization skills and a business understanding. To succeed you have worked internationally with a documented successful track record of leading a team delivering across country borders. Your theoretical background is likely a MSc or similar, but we believe it can be in almost any subject - it's what you have chosen to do with your degree that will matter to us. You are a driven, high performer who always seeks to beat expectations. You are independent, structured, with a high analytical ability.

You know how to use your strengths to build long-term relationships at different levels and across cultures. You are extremely strong in communication and perceived as enthusing. Rather than managing people, you create followers, and we need you to do this in different languages, especially in English and minimum one Scandinavian language.
