Analytical Programmer / Data Scientist Role
Rystad Energy is a leading supplier of industry data and insights into the energy sector.
We are looking for talented individuals to help us continue our growth story.
The Technology Team is focused on supporting our data products and analysts by solving problems, developing models, and implementing solutions, based on thorough data and industry knowledge.
We develop models and build the required data infrastructure with high quality and robustness to solve the industry's questions and for continuous improvements to our products.
We are looking for candidates for a programming position with a "can-do" attitude and drive to deliver tangible results for our products. The ideal profile can be a physicist/engineer who likes programming, or a programmer who likes mathematics, ideally with some data science experience, like data mining, machine learning, optimization and statistic modelling, and desire to learn all the details of the energy sector.
We offer challenging programming tasks, substantial learning opportunities within a positive, dynamic, and international environment.
We will consider both junior, mid, and senior candidates.
Due to Covid-19, it is unlikely that we will pursue candidates from outside Europe.
Main tasks might include:
- Development and implementation of the above methods for a production environment. Key tools are C#, .Net and SQL, and increasingly Python.
- Research and learn about project topics for insightful modelling. The scope is vast, but the primary research focus is energy.
- Data mining, optimization, statistical and other problem solving by use of traditional methods or ML
- Data engineering, process, and bring large amounts of data into architectures that make the company's data available.
- Ensure data integrity and analyze the data with statistical methods.
- Work with analyst colleagues, communicate results internally and support product development through creative thinking and exploring other data sources.
Requirements:
- University degree (Master/Bachelor) in a data-driven or analytical field such as computer science, physics, mathematics, economics
- Knowledge with databases SQL & non-SQL
- Knowledge of C#, C++, Python or similar
- Experience with the processing of extensive data sets through code; gather, classify, analyze and synthesize information.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Love to code
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
- Experience on a cloud platform is a plus.
