Aker Solutions’ Controls R&D department, at Tranby Technology Center in Norway, is responsible for design and development of next-generation subsea control systems, electrical actuators, condition and performance monitoring and electrification of subsea products.
The department is a spearhead within the company, developing new technologies and enabling digitalization.

Controls R&D consists of 4 discipline teams:

• Product Architecture & Test
• Embedded Electronics & Mechanics
• Embedded Software & Configuration
• Product Support & Sustaining

Our development strategy is built on state-of-the-art processes and methodology, such as agile, virtualization and test-driven development. The departments have direct access to in-house lab facilities with equipment and tools for concept development, prototyping and testing.

We are looking for an innovative Lead Engineer to be part of the Field Management System Software team. Are you the one?

Candidates must already be resident in Norway.

Responsibilities and tasks:

As Lead Engineer you will have the technical lead role for a dedicated area and assigned to product development projects taking part in all project phases from requirements and concept definition to design, verification and industrialization

• Plan, manage and execute software development team
• Design, simulate and verify systems and solutions
• Responsibility for product architecture and key design choices
• Develop product design methodology and tools
• Interface between development team, product owner and other stakeholders
• Technical support for delivery projects

Qualifications & personal attributes

• BSc, MSc or PhD in relevant engineering discipline
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in software development
• In-Depth Java programming knowledges
• Experience with requirements definition and analysis
• Knowledge of subsea technologies is a bonus
• Ability to handle complex specifications and develop consistent solutions
• Good people and communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English 
• Experience in one or more of the following areas are required; Java backend technologies (Spring- and Grails-Framework, Mongo-DB) / Frontend technologies (Angular, Bootstrap) / Tools (Jenkins, Kubernetes, IntelliJ,  Google-Cloud platform) / Continuous integration and verification / Agile software development
