Mechanical Engineers

Our Deck Machinery and Motion Control division owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritimes winches and handling solutions.

We are looking for Mechanical Engineers to increase the engineering capacity in both our ETO (Engineer-To-Order) department and our Products department. We deliver design for all the products in the Deck Machinery portfolio as winch and handling systems to products lines within Offshore, Fishery and Subsea. The projects will vary from simple winch designs to complex winch and handling solutions, including aftermarket upgrade projects. Working with our wide range of products as a member of our highly skilled team, will give you first-class opportunities for personal and professional development.

The key tasks in ETO will be to deliver mechanical design and documentation of handling system in customer projects, technical coordination and to follow the project from sales phase to delivery. In the Products department the key tasks will be to take part in and lead internal development projects, supporting sales and design/verification of handling equipment. You will use your strong knowledge in deck handling equipment to contribute to develop and deliver the handling systems for the future.

Key accountabilities

Technical coordination of customer projects
Participate in and lead internal development projects
Support our sales organisation with solutions and offers for customers
Technical Support for vessels operating with our deck machinery portfolio
Support service engineers with technical advice during service jobs and commissioning of our equipment

Qualifications and experience
Education within mechanical engineering or relevant experience
Good knowledge in deck handling equipment and operations or similar is preferred
Experience in 3D tools is required where NX is preferred
Knowledge in hydraulics or structural calculation is an advantage
Experience from projects/project management is an advantage
