A summer job in Aker BP will give you 6-8 weeks of practical experience within a relevant field of expertise and a taste of what it’s like to work for one of the larger E&P companies on the Norwegian continental shelf. You’ll get to socialize with other summer interns, grow your professional network, and learn from experienced professionals. 

The Subsea Execution and Survey team is part of the Logistics & Marine department. The focus of the team is to provide safe, reliable and cost-leading subsea execution and survey capabilities and by this reduce Aker BP’s exposure from production risks and integrity risk.

The past years there has been a high focus within the area of geomatics, on how we efficiently should acquire and use our subsea data and produce reliable maps/charts in our operations.

This summer, we’d like to offer you a chance to work together with experienced professionals to learn more about the field of geomatics, where you will supports us with everything from planning/scoping subsea survey operations to ensuring data is handled correctly. Your exact assignment will be decided based on our business needs combined with your field of expertise and your interests.

Typical work task can be:

• Support the scoping and planning of next year’s inspection, maintenance and repair campaign
• Interpret and quality checking acquired survey and geospatial data
• Move/load data to correct storage location with the correct naming conventions
• General data housekeeping
• Establish a system to prevent data been stored incorrectly
   

Requirements:

• Enrolled in a relevant bachelor or master program within Survey Engineering,Geodesy (“Kart og oppmåling”) or Data Science
• Interested in and knowledge about Subsea Operations and Deodetics
• English language working proficiency
