Data and Platform Engineer

Are you our new Data and Platform Engineer within Insight Operations?

I am Maria Palmer and I am leading Insight Operations team at Telia Norway. We are looking for a person with solid data engineering and cloud skills to help us define our target architecture, maintain and optimize our dataflows and stabilize our platforms and processes and ensure Telia can always rely on insights delivered by our department. Are you the one to fit the bill?

Your next challenge?

As a member of Insight Operations, you´ll be contributing to stability and further deveolopment of our state-of-the-art data platform, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize distributed platform solutions based on big data technologies. Your tasks will include optimizing the existing CI/CD processes and DataOps setups, employing test driven development and IaaC practices.

We need your help with improving our monitoring solution and SLA reporting. You´ll be responsible for maintaining our data and coding quality standards and building trust between IT Analytics department and its stakeholders, maintaining both quality and speed of our deliveries.

English is our common language; therefore, it is important that your English is fluent both spoken and written. Do you speak Norwegian as well? Great!

Your experience:

• You have a degree in IT/Computer Science/Mathematics/etc
• Working experience as a Data/Software Engineer for 5+ years
• Strong programming background, solid Python or Scala skills
• Good scripting skills – bash, python
• Unix/Linux proficiency
• Experience with cloud technologies
• Terraform or other scripted infrastructure
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, Git experience is essential
• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka etc. is an advantage
