Analyst Tax and Investment Control

Norges Bank Investment Management is responsible for the Government Pension Fund Global (Oljefondet). We are seeking a dedicated and results-orientated Analyst to join the Tax and Investment Control group. Tax and Investment Control is part of the Operations area and consists of two core functions - the operational tax support for the listed equities and fixed income investments and the investment controller function for the unlisted real estate and infrastructure investments. In this role you will be part of the tax team.

The Role
As the successful applicant you will be part of a small team responsible for ensuring that the appropriate tax treatment is achieved on the fund's public investments. Operational taxes in a global context offers numerous complex challenges where you will work with implementing and maintaining a robust operational process to support investments in more than 70 countries. This includes continuous development of tax controls and analysis using programming languages and cloud technology, monitoring and analysing market changes and managing tax filings and reclaims in relevant countries. The team is also responsible for KYC related communication towards Norges Bank Investment Management's trading counterparties.
You will engage with leading operational tax advisors. Possessing strong communication and documentation skills, and an ability to explain complex concepts to key stakeholders will set you apart in this role. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be challenged on a wide range of tasks in a rapidly changing, global environment. There will be great development opportunities for the right candidate to shape the role according to his or her own interests and competencies.

The position is located in Oslo and will report to the Head of Tax and Investment Control. Some travel should be expected.

Main responsibilities This is a collaborative environment conducive to learning working on some of the following tasks:
* Providing support to investment teams and following up day-to-day tax issues
* Performing data analysis and preparing reports for key stakeholders
* Monitoring changes in tax laws or administrative practices and analysing operational implications, including tax aspects of new investments
* Contributing to the development of the team's function with a focus on automation. Utilisation of new technology and programming tools will be encouraged
* Maintaining and developing external vendor relationships with custodian, operational tax advisor and a global network of tax agents
* Participating in project work and handling ad-hoc requests covering a broad scope of topics
* Supporting tax filings and documentation processes

Main qualifications
* Master's degree in finance or economics with strong academic records
* Relevant work experience from the financial industry, audit or consultancy firm is an advantage, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
* No tax experience required. Extensive training will be provided
* Technical skills in computer science, or an interest in developing new computer science skills, including Python, AWS, and SQL.
