On behalf of our customer Tunable are we looking for a Business Development Manager.
Tunable makes word-class gas analysers. Our products are used for emission monitoring, improving efficiency in the natural gas value chain and ensuring clean transportation at sea. We also help fish farms operate more efficiently and offer solutions for safeguarding power distribution systems.
The market for gas analysers is growing rapidly, primarily fueled by environmental concerns and consequential government legislation to reduce emissions. In addition, our cutting-edge technology is enabling new applications, further boosting market potential.
Tunable was established in 2015 and is based in Oslo, Norway. The founders are experienced professionals with successful track records in developing and commercializing sensor technologies. Our proprietary and patented micro-technology offers several advantages over current solutions and is truly groundbreaking. We have international growth ambition.
We are now entering the commercialization phase and aim to strengthen our business development team. We’re looking for a result-driven B2B business developer to actively seek out and engage customer leads. The ideal candidate is a highly outgoing salesperson with desire to commercialize new technology. We are primarily seeking individuals with experience from the natural gas industry, shipping, process industry or power distribution. However motivation and drive to build a growth company to become an international success is equally important as domain experience.
In this position you will work alongside the executive and technical team. You will do market research, target new opportunities, visit customers and close deals. We are looking for self-driven individuals, eager to seek out and engage potential customers, in person and through digital platforms.
Ideal candidates:
- Have a demonstrated ability to close deals and grow sales revenues in technical fields
- Are outgoing with a can do attitude – enjoy reaching out to new potential leads
- Know how to identify and develop business opportunities in new and existing markets
- Are willing and able to travel
Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales targets and business development goals
- Promote and sell products and solutions to existing and new potential customers
- Develop & execute commercialization plans for new product offering
- Build and maintain a business relationship network
- Collect market intelligence and analyze business opportunities
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or comparable technical experience
- Experience from sales and business development
- Domain experience from the natural gas industry, shipping, process industry or power distribution

Tunable was founded in 2015 by Thor Bakke (PhD) and Ib-Rune Johansen (PhD) and is located in Oslo, Norway. We are making the world’s most versatile gas analyser to detect multiple gases simultaneously, at high sensitivity with a small and robust device that can be adapted to a wide range of applications: alarm systems and fiscal measurements in the oil and gas industry, environmental monitoring, water quality monitoring of drinking water or in the fish farming industry, dissolved gas analysis (DGA) that can prevent transformers catching fire, patient monitoring during surgery, and many more.Our sensor is based on micro- and nanotechnology, with our two core components being a tunable optical filter and an optical microphone. In combination with a neatly designed excitation chamber and custom-built electronics, these components fit inside a coffee cup and enable photo-acoustic gas detection.
